Lindsay LohanThe Parent Trap, a remake of the 1961 movie. Lindsay Lohan played dual roles of estranged twin sisters who try to reunite their long-divorced parents, played by Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson. The film earned US$92 million worldwide, and critic Kenneth Turan called Lindsay Lohan "the soul of this film as much as Hayley Mills was of the original", going on to say that "she is more adept than her predecessor at creating two distinct personalities". The film won Lindsay Lohan a Young Artist Award for best performance in a feature film as well as a three-film contract with Disney.
Janet Jackson
In 1973, at the age of seven, Janet Jackson appeared on stage in Las Vegas Strip with her siblings in a routine show at the MGM Casino. Jane Cornwell documented in her biography of the singer, Janet Jackson (2002), that at age eight, her father Joseph told her not to call him "Dad" anymore since he was her manager; he told her she would henceforth address him as "Joseph". Janet Jackson began her career as an actress with the debut of the CBS variety show The Jacksons (1976), in which she appeared with her siblings Tito, Rebbie, Randy, Michael, Marlon, La Toya and Jackie. In 1977, Janet Jackson was selected by producer Norman Lear to play a recurring role as Penny Gordon Woods in the sitcom Good Times.
